Tonya Ray Bailey is Vice President, Director of Personal Insurance Division and Private Client Group Account Director for Harden, one of the Southeast’s leading insurance, risk management, and employee benefits firms. In her multifaceted role, Tonya Ray has strategic leadership responsibilities for operations and business development for personal insurance and financial services conducted in Jacksonville, Amelia Island, and Tampa for clients across the country. She also has direct oversight for the division’s organic growth strategy, in addition to responsibility for developing relationships and solutions for clients within the Private Client Group.
Prior to joining Harden in 2016, Tonya Ray worked with Nationwide Insurance for 10 years in various roles of progression which helped to develop a broadened perspective in personal, commercial, and financial sectors. In her last role at Nationwide, Tonya Ray held the position of District Sales Manager for Tarrant County. Her role encompassed recruiting and training small business owners and executing strategic plans related to staffing, brand awareness, market penetration, and relationship management. In 2014 she was recognized for leading the #1 district in the state of Texas. Her district was also recognized multiple years as a top performer in life insurance and financial services.
Tonya Ray’s early passion for the industry is reflected in earning her Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management, Insurance, and Financial Planning from Mississippi State University. She currently holds a Florida General Lines (2-20) license, a Florida Life, Health and Variable Annuities (2-15) license, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 6, 63, and 26. She has obtained her Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Commercial Lines Certified Specialist (CLCS) designations.
Always a believer in philanthropic causes, Tonya Ray has been active in a variety of local and national organizations, including volunteer board commitments. She proudly serves as an active member of Jacksonville Women’s Network, Leadership Jacksonville, Vice Chair of Girls, Inc. of Jacksonville, and President of the North Florida CPCU Society Chapter.
