Senior Vice President, Commercial Insurance Division Account Director
Michael Ammiano is Senior Vice President, Shareholder, and Commercial Insurance Division Account Director for Harden. In his role, Mike is responsible for developing new client relationships, providing risk management advice to existing clients, and directing support services to achieve client objectives. Mike serves as the healthcare industry practice leader for the firm. Additionally, he serves as a technical resource in the areas of alternative risk financing methods, including captives and self-insurance, reinsurance, property insurance, professional liability, and management liability.
During his 35-year career in the insurance industry, Mike has held senior management and brokerage positions with several national brokerage firms. He specializes in large, complex risks with industry specialization in healthcare, real estate and property management, and design professionals. Mike has also held positions managing underwriting facilities on behalf of industry associations.
Mike was named a “Power Broker” in 2011 by Risk & Insurance magazine, and was the recipient of the Responsibility Leader designation. An active speaker for the Risk and Insurance Management Society and the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriting Society, he has lectured on emerging issues regarding captives, self-insurance, insurance market conditions, and alternative risk transfer techniques. Additionally, Mike has authored several published articles in national trade magazines on various risk management topics.
A native of Jacksonville, Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and Master’s degree in Business Administration, from Stetson University. He is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management, the Florida Society of Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Safety, and an associate member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society.
An involved member of the community, Mike is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the North Florida Multiple Sclerosis Society and Chairman of Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville’s Development Council. He is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville, class of 2004.
