Vice President, Director of Trade Relations
Kurt Thoresen is Vice President and Director of Trade Relations for Harden, one of the Southeast’s leading insurance, risk management and employee benefits firms. In his role, Kurt is responsible for leading insurance carrier and trade partner relationships to maximize value to clients and prospective clients, and enhancing operational efficiencies and revenue growth.
A member of the Harden team since 2003, Kurt’s industry expertise includes working with healthcare systems, long-term care institutions, manufacturing companies, and staffing agencies. Additionally, he consults on nearly all aspects of commercial insurance coverages. Prior to joining Harden, Kurt worked in the Property department at Marsh’s Los Angeles office before relocating to Atlanta to work in their Healthcare Practice Group.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, Kurt earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance. He served as Vice President of Industry Relations for Gamma Iota Sigma, an Honorary Insurance Fraternity. As a Senior, he was one of twelve students selected to speak to industry professionals on current insurance issues at the Annual Insurance Management Seminar.
Kurt obtained his Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Florida. He earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation by successfully completing eight tests focused on commercial property and casualty insurance and underwriting. Most recently, Kurt completed the Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM) program which focuses studies on ocean and inland marine insurance and underwriting. He holds a Florida General Lines (2-20) license, Life, Health and Variable Annuities (2-15) license, and Surplus Lines (1-20) license.
Active in the Jacksonville community, Kurt volunteers with Friends of Stockton, which is a 501(c)(3) for John Stockton Elementary School, local youth sports leagues, I9 Sports, and Little League baseball.
